For over 30 years, Dennis has been starting and advising new technology ventures. He is focused on providing startups and early-stage technology businesses with the tools they need to get noticed and funded.
Dennis founded his first company, Photonic Systems Incorporated, a Melbourne, Florida VC-backed optical information processing startup, in 1987 after working in engineering and engineering leadership positions at Texas Instruments and Harris Corporation. He became a key player and acting CTO in a number of corporate technology spin-outs while he was at Milcom Technologies, a VC-backed corporate technology commercialization firm in Orlando.
Most recently, Dennis co-founded and directs Catalyst Spaces, a coworking space in downtown Orlando. Catalyst provides workspace for entrepreneurs and startups and is a platform that houses VentureScaleUp, a technology accelerator for advanced startups, and business resources including mentors, workshops, and events to help startups grow and scale.
Dennis is also the founder of Florida Venture Sourcing, an online community of Florida technology venture startups, investors and mentors. Its weekly newsletter is received by nearly everyone in Florida involved in the technology venture community. Most recently he founded a sister publication, Orlando Venture Sourcing, which covers the Orlando innovation community.
